“Back downtown, stop by the Stronghouse Brew Pub for Bavarian-style pretzels with beer-cheese dip and an elk jalapeño cheddar bratwurst amid a buzzy beer hall vibe. The building’s stone walls (inside and out) give it a European farmhouse feel, but the setting is actually a renovated warehouse dating to 1892. Out of the nine or so beers brewed on site, I sampled the petite saison, which was light and tart.”
